I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this place at first. But a Groupon got me in the door and it wasn't bad. The first time I may have been a little nervous when I ordered. They have quite a few choices when it comes to hot dogs. Not only are the various options as far as toppings but also what kind of dog you want (Johnny's Hots are only 99 cents but there is also a snap dog, a veggie dog and a classic beef dog). I've tried the Johnny's Famous, New Yorker, Jersey Slaw, the Southern and the Wisconsin. It's difficult to choose a favorite but I'm partial to the Southern and the Wisconsin. For now. Thanks to Groupon and Double Take Deals I am slowly making my way through all the options. They also offer burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, fries, onion rings, floats and shakes. I've had the burgers and a root beer float. The burger wasn't the best but for fast food it will do. The root beer float was pretty amazing. The fries were not my favorite. I usually get my order to go but they do have seating for dining in. Service is always friendly and I enjoy watching them put together my order. While some of the other menu items may not be that great, as far as the hot dogs are concerned Johnny's Lunch is a good deal!

Pricey, but good. We were traveling and wanted to stop for a quick lunch, and found a groupon for this place, which sounded kid-friendly and fast. Overall, we enjoyed the food, and the kids loved that their meals came in cars. We also happened to visit on a Sunday, which meant free shakes with the kids' meals - that was a BIG hit. They loved them and talked about them all day. My husband ordered a meal and thought that he was getting it on a burger, but it was a hot dog, and he was fine with that. I had the Ben Rothlisberger hot dog and it was tasty, but since I got the "regular" hot dog, it was not as filling. The onion rings were delicious. Overall, for what we paid with the groupon, it was okay, but full price would have been way too much. Also, the service was not great. There was no one else when we came in, and the people didn't greet us, didn't ask if we needed help with the long and sort of confusing menu. When I ordered, the woman helping me asked what kind of hot dog I wanted, and when I didn't understand what she meant, she rolled her eyes at me and explained. Also, when our food arrived and I wasn't sure it was right (it was, but since my husband told me he ordered a hamburger, I thought it was wrong) she was a little hostile about it. Overall, we had a decent experience, but with so many choices in that area, it's unlikely we'd go back to this one.

The burgers, fries, and malted shakes are delicious! The staff was also very friendly and helpful and the facility was spotlessly clean. The only downside is that I found the menu, which is written across multiple walls of chalkboard, to be overwhelming and confusing. We also had a difficult time finding the place because it's located in a small shopping plaza, inside a larger plaza (close to the road for anyone looking for it!). Overall, we had a good experience and we will certainly be back.

We exchanged money for food, which we consumed. After eating it, we were no longer hungry. So, it was a positive visit in that regard. I'd like to commend the owner of this store for hiring those two developmentally disabled young men who were working the counter the evening that I visited. I only had to repeat my simple order four times, and when all was said and done they only left one item out of the order by accident. Well done. The first dog in the order was also nice and cold by the time it was all finished, which was a nice touch. I can appreciate it when a restaurant is extra careful not to burn a customer's mouth. One suggestion that I might have is to allow these fine young men to take a break now and then. They were apparently famished, because one of them took every opportunity between customers to chow down. He must have expected it to get busy, because he didn't even leave the line to do that. Nope, he just stood there, eating in the food preparation area. I'm also glad that management is looking out for employee comfort. For too long, wearing promotional sports sweatpants while on the job has been the exclusive domain of gym teachers and rock drummers. I'm glad to see that casual dress has finally arrived in the food service arena, and look forward to seeing my cooks in tank tops and open-toed sandals the next time I visit. Johnny's is a perfectly serviceable hot dog shop that will simultaneously feed you and annoy you. If you find yourself hungry and in a little too good of a mood, go here. It'll fix both problems.

This is an institution in my hometown known for their great Texas hots at a terrific takeout price. Although this franchised location is not quite the same, it's a good place to enjoy some greasy American food. If you can, visit the original in Jamestown NY for the real Johnny's experience

This is the best sauce for a hot dog. it's not chili but a light spicy brown sauce. The fries are real and fresh, almost made to order. Shakes are real and a must for the shake lovers out there.. A classic old style hop with an updated feel. Everyone I take there loves it and says it;s worth the trip. I live in the south hills but make this trip monthly.

"Value" is the word here. You can load up on dogs for a buck a piece. I stopped in for lunch again today and I'm plenty satisfied. The hot dogs were made just how I wanted them... fries were delicious. I like the atmosphere and the employees have always been friendly. There are better places to go when you want a meal but for a quick and easy lunch Johnny's is hard to beat.

This is a great shop if you are craving a "dog". For a buck you can get one with as many toppings as you want. The rice pudding is excellent and also rings in at 99 cents. I like this place much better than Brighton. The chili is better, service is good, fries are like Five Guys, and the environment is comfortable with a diner theme. Recommended.

Bright. Clean. Cheerful service. The grilled chicken sandwich was juicy and the bun soft and oh so fresh! A gem of a find for quick food! I can't wait to try it again.

Tried the chicago dog, a cheeseburger and fries. I would recommend the chicago dog, it was great and the fries were good. As far as the burger, you would be better off going to five guys burgers down the road. It was flavorless and was not prepared with the toppings that i requested.

We got there at 11 and then had to wait until 5 after for them to open, no big deal but the fries had already been cooked and must have been sitting because they weren't hot. The hot dogs weren't that great, just plain hot dogs to me, although I didn't get any special ones. The milkshake was ok. I won't go back.

Great hot dog shop in the outer 'burbs of Pittsburgh. Totally glad I made the trip up to visit. Not only did the sight of modern subdivisions calm my nerves, the dogs were really good. I tried all three types. For once I liked the cheapest ones - the 99 cent dogs! Push the boat out and your can get your 99 center dressed up with toppings for $1.59. But you will need to eat at least two to fill up.

Stopped here while traveling before getting on the Pennsylvania Turnpike to avoid the food at the turnpike's rest stops. This restaurant features hot dogs. The have a few specialty hot dogs with predetermined toppings but you also can customize the toppings. They have good french fries. You order at the counter and receive your meals. There is seating in the restaurant which we used. This is good place to get hot dogs. The menu is otherwise limited. It is a nice alternative to all the nationwide, fast food chain restaurants in the Cranberry area near the turnpike exchange.

4-5 stars, really? Have any of you grilled a hot dog? This place is very average; paid $7.00 for 1 dog with pickles and a few other ingredients. Brighton hot dog shop much better. Joe S.

Well I like Johnny's and it is quick and easy lunch. The service is somewhat lacking and sometimes I feel like I'm intruding when I come in and order. I'm going to keep going there for lunch and the food is really good. I would recommend it :)
